Osaka Castle 日本の城と桜

Osaka Castle cherry blossoms

Osaka Castle Osaka Japan

I love Japan and I love castles, so it would be pretty awesome to visit a castle in Japan like this Osaka castle in Osaka, Japan. It would be especially awesome to be able to visit during cherry blossom season, though I'm not sure that would really work out with my schedule and my fiance's work. And it would be just silly to go to something that romantic without one's romantic partner when you know you would just be missing them the whole time and wishing they were there with you. So I will put off the cherry blossom (or any kind of Japan visit, even to Osaka castle) until I can take him with me.

Osaka Castle wishes

I am absolutely sure (or pretty darn close) that there is no way they let people stay in castles like Osaka castle, but I think that would be an absolutely great way to tour, staying in castles and monasteries as one goes along. But Ryokan and Onsen are a perfectly reasonable to that perfectly unreasonable idea of staying in Osaka castle, so maybe we should just be happy and call it a day on that idea.

Osaka Castle history

The other upside to visiting and touring historical locations, monuments, and buildings is the history that one gets to learn, or is sometimes forced to learn as one goes. History was not my favorite subject in school, ever, but I love learning history by the seat of my pants, flying along through small pieces and shreds of it at a time. I bet Osaka castle is no different.

Osaka castle live-ins

I do have to wonder sometimes who decides which of these castles like Osaka castle are still repairable, still live-in-able with a little work, or if it was something that would, at this point, but nothing more than a colossal waist of time. For instance, Buckingham is still occupied, but are any of the castles left in Japan occupied, like for instance the Osaka castle. It would be really cool to live in a castle, but preferably temporarily, because I don't want to be the one who has to clean a whole castle. Hence I think it'd be cool to live in one, but only for a little while. Until then, hope to see you somewhat soon Osaka castle.
